Pastor Kelly McInerney was born in Michigan but spent most of his childhood in Oklahoma, where he was saved when he was seven. After returning to Michigan in his college years, he surrendered to the ministry and began a pastoral apprenticeship in Mt. Orab, Ohio. He married his wife, Theresa, in 1990, and was ordained in 1993. After serving a few years as a music minister and assistant pastor, he and Theresa began the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, Ohio in 1995. There were eight people present for their first Bible study, but the church quickly grew to 40 members, and then to 100 by the end of the year. The Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington became the largest church in Clinton County history, with an average of 1000 people attending morning worship by the church's 10th anniversary in 2005. Pastor McInerney led the church through three major building programs, and today the church has properties valued at over $6 millions dollars on 32 acres, and is debt-free.
After 22 years of ministry in Wilmington, Ohio, the Lord led the McInerney family to assume the senior pastor position at Bible Baptist Church of Savannah. Pastor McInerney was installed as the pastor in March, 2017, while still pastoring the Ohio church. He and his family moved to Savannah in July 2017 to begin full-time ministry. They are excited about what the Lord has planned for this congregation, and look forward to serving and leading BBC Savannah.
Pastor and Theresa have two sons - Kenton, 17; Kaden, 14; and a daughter - Kerrigan, 8.
